Thought of the Day 11/18/2011

How is it that in 9 months of having a minivan, it is only today that I have realized I have Sirius satellite radio.  In only 15 minutes, I have heard the wonderful sounds of Go West, Janet Jackson, Genesis, and Peabo Bryson.  Nice.  I may never go back to FM radio.

Recent Everyday Occurences

Avery's latest favorite game is to hand out buckets, have us put them on, and march.  She got this idea from her sign language dvds and now demands this of everyone!

 Why is Mommy's the smallest???

Our big boy doing some tummy time.  Won't be long until he's rolling over!

Pretty girl with her new 'do.

Pumpkin Time!

This was Avery's first year of actively participating in carving our pumpkins for Halloween.  Because we procrastinated this year and waited until the day before Halloween to do this, we only ended up having the time to carve one pumpkin this year.  We picked the largest one and showed her the ropes.  She caught on quickly.

Everything's a little more fun with Daddy!

Not sure if we like this sensation or not!

Rylan's mood most of the time.  Thoughtful and bored.

Boredom won.

Not so safe, but the best way to get the angle she needed.

Our cheap little carver tool just stabbed me.  Chris caught that moment on camera, lucky for me!

Really getting into it.

Avery's contribution: everything looks better with stickers!  (Even garage sale ones!)

Our finished product.  Not too shabby for throwing it together at the last minute.

Halloween 2011

Here are a few pictures from Halloween night.  You will probably first take note of the fact that there are only pictures of Rylan in costume.  Despite the weeks of anticipation and Avery very adamantly telling me one day what she wished to be for Halloween this year, we could not manage to coax her into her costume on the actual day.  We had her dressed, only to have her rip her costume off, saying she did not like it.  Avery not like Halloween costume.  After an hour of coaxing and bribing, we surrendered to her command, and just put her in her favorite Hello Kitty t-shirt and sweats and began making our rounds.  (Both stops!  We saw Meema and Grandma and Grandpa.)  Here's our cute little jayhawk, who was sweating within a few minutes of being fulled garbed up.

More pics to come soon involving pumpkins.  Avery was a willing participant of those activities at least!
