As promised!

Although it was really windy yesterday, Avery still wanted to go outside and ride around on her new favorite toy! Here are some pics of her showing off!

Now Running

2 1/2 weeks later, and Miss Avery is still going full steam ahead. Walking is now her favorite thing to do, and we have even started running a bit down the hall and outside down the driveway. This walking business has made trips to Walmart a little more difficult. She's not near as content to sit in the cart and roll along. After about 20 minutes or so she's screaming pretty loudly because she wants down-yes, we are those people now. Luckily we go there on Monday mornings before it gets very busy, so only a few lucky people get to witness the meltdowns. I made the mistake of letting her roam around a bit when we went to Dollar General the other day. When it was time to go, she wouldn't follow me, so Mommy had to pick her up kicking and screaming all the way out the door. Lovely. Don't think we'll be going back there anytime soon!

We had another first this past weekend. The four-wheeler that we got for her birthday had been sitting down in the family room for the past month and a half. Chris thought we ought to at least try it out and see how she would handle it. We took her out back and sat her on it. Mommy held down the button and Avery held on for dear life and we took off. She LOVED it! We got some very cute Flip videos, but again, I don't think I can post those on here. The next time she goes out, we'll get some pictures so we can show off our little daredevil. She is now able to press the button herself and she has even tried to stand up while riding too. That might sound a little dangerous, but she's on the grass and I think she's probably going about 1/2 mph. It's so fun to watch; if you live in town, I highly suggest stopping by to see this wonder! And We're Walking!!!

We couldn't be more proud! September. 2nd. 2010. The first official day of Avery walking on her own. And also the first day of her standing on her own. It completely amazes me how much she can get accomplished in one day. I thought I was good for getting 5 loads of laundry done on Wednesday. Showoff!!

Yesterday Avery and I decided to wait outside for Chris to come home for lunch. While waiting, I went ahead and stood Avery up and let go of her hands to see what happened. We had occasionally done this and she would stand for 5 seconds or so before realizing she was only being held up by her own two legs. Well, I don't know if it was because we were outside or what, but she stood, and stood, and stood, until Daddy pulled in the driveway a couple minutes later. Then, to make it even better, she waves so big to see him, and continued to stand, and stand a little longer. After eating lunch, we brought her back outside to see if she would stand some more. Little did we know that she would decide to take a couple of steps over to the flower pot by the garage!

For the rest of the afternoon, I tried to work with her, but she wasn't having it. Not without Daddy being home to see it. Thank goodness he got off work at 4 because at 4:45ish, Avery took off walking across the kitchen to follow Mommy with an empty bottle. Not just 4 or 5 steps either. She took a good 10-12 steps before falling gently to the floor. Within the next 20 minutes, she was walking from the living room into the kitchen, down the hallway, into the bathroom. You name it, she was there! We got a couple of Flip videos of her walking, but I don't think I'm able to post them on here. I took some pictures, but you can't tell she's walking in them. Here are a couple of cute ones anyway though!
