Fourth of July

This year's Fourth of July came and went pretty quickly.  It's not necessarily one of my favorite holidays because I've never been a big fan of fireworks.  Since the city only allows them for 3 days now instead of a week, I find the holiday much more enjoyable.  We went and bought our fireworks on the 3rd, which turned out to not be the greatest choice. Trying to explain to Avery and Rylan that we would just shoot off a few that night and leave the rest for the next night was not an easy task.  Turns out, it was impossible.  Our evening of a couple of fountains and sparklers turned into setting off EVERY single one of our purchases from the fireworks stand.

Avery explaining why we should continue to light fireworks.

Rylan's just always happy to be there.

And the evening turned into night.

Since we were not going to spend any more money than we already had on fireworks, the actual Fourth was spent lazing around the house.  The kids did get dressed in their festive outfits and posed a little for the camera.

Moose.

He loves the pearl snaps.

We made it through the day without too much begging from Avery to go spend some more dough.  We kept going back and forth about going to Wall Park for the big display, and settled on going, but parking at Lakeside and watching from there.  It was a really great view without ANY of the crowd and we were able to pack up and go home as soon as it was over.  Pretty simple day.  Chris took the 5th off also so he had an extra long weekend.  The kids and I all agreed the best part was having him home for 4 days straight!
