Fourth of July Weekend

Although it wasn't her first Fourth of July, Avery got to experience lots of new things over the holiday weekend.  We knew we weren't going to spend a ton of money on fireworks, and not just because Mommy doesn't like them.  We didn't want to overwhelm Avery with huge, loud ones and scare her for life (like Mommy is.)  We weren't sure how she would react to even the little ones, and felt it was best to play it on the safe side with several boxes of snappers, some small fountains, and the teeniest family variety pack we could find.  $20 later,  on Sunday, July 3rd, here was our girl testing her hand at the firecrackers:

Look at that form!

Needed a squat break.  Realized her chair was only a few feet away on the porch so beelined  it over there.

Taking a break to look through the pine cone collection.

After a successful first evening of learning how the snappers work, we took her out again the night of the Fourth to watch everything else.  She was digging through the bag of goodies picking out what she wanted to do next!

Her patriotic outfit courtesy of Old Navy.

Holding a sparkler which I could not fit into this picture.

Managed to squeeze it into this pic.

Very warm after a fun evening outside.  It felt like we kept shoving her drink into her mouth but we sure didn't want to risk her overheating!
